It hosts a wide range of museums (which are all free), art galleries, exhibitions and the city is well known for producing some world class rock music. It hosts the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet not to mention its numerous theatres and concert venues. It is only 40 minutes from the capital – Edinburgh and 30 minutes from the start of the stunning Highlands. You therefore have the best of both the city and the remote highlands within easy access.
