Britain’s Got Talent winner Pudsey ‘the dancing dog’ recently hit Hollywood!
The Americans it seems, like the British, can’t seem to get enough of him.
The UK’s favourite pet pooch is taking Hollywood by storm, having been
flown out on Simon Cowell’s private jet. It appears Pudsey is succeeding
where a host of British stars have failed before. Having secured his own
book deal and following his success on winning Britain’s Got Talent** his
owner, Ashleigh Butler, 17, decided to spend a weekend taking in the sites
and sounds of Hollywood with him. During their walkabout they posed for
cameras. Pudsey even gave a bus of thrilled tourists an impromptu
performance as they looked on in awe. Taking Hollywood in his stride he
even donned a pair of sunglasses. Pudsey even smooched with a Stateside
girlfriend, as he flirted with a fellow pooch in an LA street while out on
‘walkies’. Naturally, Pudsey and Ashleigh travel around Hollywood in a
stretch limo!

“This is London” – Part 1 - Recently the BBC World Service celebrated 80 years of broadcasting. Started in 1932, it broadcast originally on short-wave only. Today it broadcasts on short-wave, FM, digital radio and the internet. Its audiences continue to grow. However, short-wave listening has declined. But for millions BBC World Service remains a lifeline to the outside world.
Short-wave is still important because listeners can catch the signal that travels thousands of miles across international boundaries, sometimes eluding the censors, by bouncing off the turbulent gases of the ionosphere, the layers of electrified gas several hundred kilometres above the earth. Listeners are used to the background noise of electronic warbling, whistling and hissing, that short-wave has reliably delivered for 80 years.

James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 from ‘Goldfinger’ and ‘Thunderball’ came top in a list of all time 50 favourite memories from the James Bond hit movies. Second was Oddjob’s metal-rimmed bowler hat that decapitated his enemies. A survey of 1000 moviegoers, conducted by insurance firm esure to mark 50 years of the film franchise, asked fans to name what to them encapsulates their favourite secret service agent.
Coming in at number three was Bond’s favourite drink – a Martini that he prefers ‘shaken, not stirred’. Surprisingly, Ursula Andress – dressed in a skimpy white bikini as Honey Ryder in the first James Bond movie ‘Dr No’ – comes in at a rather lowly 22, but she is still 23 places above hunky Daniel Craig emerging from the sea in his tight swimming trunks in the remake of ‘Casino Royale’.
Nikki Sellers from esure: “Bond is famous for the actors who play him, the villains and, of course, the girls.” She added, “We wanted to also celebrate the non-human stars of the films, such as the amazing cars, the wonderful inventions and the style icons.”

Britain’s Got Talent superstar Susan Boyle, 48, has made history with the release of her new album ‘I Dreamed a Dream’. The album was the fastest selling debut album in history in the UK for a female artist. It sold a staggering 411,820 copies in its first week. In the U.S. it also went straight to the top - selling 701,000 copies in its first week.
The shy spinster from Blackburn in West Lothian, Scotland, captured the heart of millions of people worldwide in 2009 on the British talent show with her singing of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’. Miss Boyle is set to be No 1 in the UK and many other countries over Christmas. The album is named after the Les Miserables tune that she sang at her audition.
Miss Boyle, who has a minor learning difficulty, recorded the new album weeks after suffering a breakdown following her overnight success. When news broke of her albums success Miss Boyle released a brief statement through her management company - saying, “It’s fantastic!”
An old hag with an evil laugh is being sought after to live in Wookey Hole Caves this summer. The caves near Wells, Somerset, are one of Britain's top tourist attractions. Laced with stalactites and stalagmites they are a favourite among tourists who visit the West Country.
An advertisement for the unique job has been placed at the local job centre for someone to teach visitors about witchcraft and magic. The caves' previous witch Jane Brenner is hanging up her broomstick after 6 years in the job and is moving onto a different post. The successful candidate 'must be able to cackle' and 'must not be allergic to cats'.
They must also 'be prepared to stay in the caves overnight'. Knowledge of the art of witchcraft is essential! The lucky person will enjoy a salary of £50,000 pro rata based on work during school holidays and at weekends. Wookey Hole said the role was open to women, men and even trans-gender witches in order to comply with sexual discrimination laws...
